Do not Vote For This Man

Friends, Family and Significant others...
Those of you that understand me know that I am very passionate when
it comes to politics, preservation of natural resources and freedom
of personal choice. I conserve. I recycle; I walk to the grocery
store neighborhood market with my canvas bags. I have been outspoken
at times but generally reserved when it comes to expressing my disdain
for politicians, the two party systems and the grand scheme of the
moneyed interests. Never in my life have I felt this much concern
that the balance of power, not only in this country, but the effect
we have on the world as a whole, is in jeopardy. Since becoming
a father in 2003, my perspectives have changed. No longer do I take
life for granted. I was cynical, pessimistic and felt the only reason
I paid attention was so that I had something to rebel against. I
was aware. I was aware that our government does not act in the best
interests of ALL its citizens. I paid attention when there was an
attempt on President Reagan’s life. I remembered the barracks bombing
by religious extremists in Lebanon, killing over 200 US Marines.
I was angry at the Savings and Loan scandals where once again the
moneyed interests got rich and we the American taxpayers got holding
the bill. I was outraged that our government would lie to our faces
about financing terrorist in Nicaragua, the war on Drugs, the war
on our civil liberties. I paid attention to the "war" in Grenada.
I remember the war in Panama, the fist gulf war, the first bombing
of the world trade center, and the partisan impeachment of President
Clinton. I watched the stolen election of 2000 and then the horrible
events of September 11, 2001. Which brings us to today November
2, 2004.
I started becoming aware in college when I met different people, from
far away places, and I don't mean the south side of Chicago, countries
like Korea, Israel, and places called Palestine, Kenya, Turkey, Iran and
too many to list. I became aware at how vast an influence America has on
the world. How our foreign policy in 1982 has direct impact on the world
events, today, in 2004. I owe this awareness to a junior high Social
Science teacher at my public school, kind of like a Jedi knight and I
was his padawan learner. He taught us how to read the newspapers,
discern what is fact, what is known fact and what was opinion presented
as fact. Once a week we had "current events". And as a consequence, I
have been paying attention ever since.
This election is not about Democrats against Republicans. Right versus
Left, Liberals against conservatives. This is a battle for ideological
differences. This is a battle for the direction this country is heading
for my sons future.
I look at the two candidates. They are both from elite, wealthy
New England families. They both went to Yale. They both served in
the armed forces. They both entered politics. This is where these
two candidates paths go in different directions. One went to Vietnam,
the other to the Texas Air National Guard, the Champagne unit, filled
with other well off children of prominence. George Bush got to play
"top gun" in an outdated aircraft that had no chance of seeing combat.
He did not finish his obligation to the guard. John Kerry went down
the Mekong delta in a swift boat risking not only his life but also
his crews. John Kerry requested to be sent over seas. George W did
not. Forget the Swift Boat for Lies, they couldn't even get their
stories straight, no matter how many times they were on TV talk
shows. How John Kerry has to defend his record against W's is beyond
me, there is nothing to compare. When it comes to political offices,
there is also no comparison. John Kerry was elected to 4 terms in
the Senate, W only one and a half terms governor of Texas. He was
selected to lead this nation by a partisan Supreme Court. Once in
office, he started deregulating business, loosened clean air policies,
and plundered the treasury, this all in the first few months in
office. He squandered the PROJECTED budget surplus; by giving tax
breaks to people that did not need them. His administration was
doing business with the extremist zealots of the Taliban so that
Unocal and Enron could get their pipeline. He gave them 45 million
dollars, taxpayers money as a bribe, and then threatened them with
carpet of bombs or a carpet of gold if they did not capitulate.
Nowhere in the plans was Osoma Bin Laden mentioned. As a result
3000 people are dead, two towers are a gaping hole and Osama is
still free.
George W and his group of neo-cons were planning a war in Iraq years
before they even took office. And this is where we stand today. It is
now known that 377 tons of high explosives were looted because the only
plans this group had was to secure the oil. 100,000 Iraqi’s are dead.
This is not freedom this is genocide. We cannot continue down this path
of tomfoolery. This is insane. And George W. Bush is to blame. He states
that only they could keep us safe? They should have thought of that
before they started threatening terrorist, doing business with opium
dealers warlords of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan. Taking the
advice of wanted bank fraud criminals, who later is ousted as an Iranian
spy, in the likes of to help convince a shocked nation that we should
invade a sovereign country against the UN, against the world, because of
WMD... They should have paid attention when on August 6th PDB he
received a warning that "Bin Laden determined to strike in the US".
No mister Bush, you do not deserve a second, third or fourth chance.
We are now a debtor nation. Borrowing money from the communist Chinese
to keep our economy floating. We have the highest unemployment ever. The
separation between classes is widening and it will be years before we
see where we stand. No longer is the US seen as the beacon of hope. W
and his family and friends have profited of war for decades now and it
is time that they stopped. And only we can stop them. I could go on and
on, but this email is longer that I anticipated.
I will never tell anyone what to do or who to vote for, but I am
asking you NOT to vote for George Walker Bush. He does not deserve
your vote.
Peace, Love and Punk rock and roll...
