Bad Brains, Mississippi Nights, St Louis MO. Spring 1987

Well I cannot believe this show was twenty years ago. I shot this with Steve Sickness' 35 mm camera for a photo class I was taking that semester at SIU, in Carbondale, IL. My teacher was kind enough to put them in protective sleeves for me, so I have a big thanks to my photo instructor at SIU. I do not think they would have been as well preserved without them. I was just learning how to develop film, working in the darkroom and enlarging from negatives, etc. and this class really made me appreciate photography as an expressive art medium.

This was a great show and anyone who have seen Bad Brains, especially in the early eighties, knows what great musicians and performers they are. This was at the old MS Nights, that was half the size it is today. The stage was tiny, so that is why I was unable to get any shots of the bass player Darryl, since he was tucked in the back behind the speakers.
