What is the human spirit? From the Force to Buddhism I don’t think anyone knows for sure. Wikipedia comes up with over 10000 hit for human spirit. This week something happen in my life that makes you think about what really happens when we die?
My Aunt and Uncle passed away within 12 hours of each other. My Aunt died first and my Uncle 12 hours later in a different hospital. They had been happily married for 63 years. They lived a modest life having 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. I really feel she came and got him and said come on we are going to miss the early bird special in heaven or you don’t have suffer anymore for my sake you can let go. The world has lost 2 role models for the way we should live our lives.
Now that you know what I’ve been thinking about, you may be wondering why I’m writing. Well I don’t know. The idea of the human spirit is comforting but is the truth? I know we are full of energy and mass, E=M?. I know we are inefficient in using our energy so don’t worry about a Matrix like life. However does the energy inside go somewhere when we die or even when we are alive? As I said before I don’t know, I just don’t and I believe no one does whether we turn into ghosts, go to heaven/hell or are reincarnated. What I do know is my Uncle waited for my Aunt to die before he let go even though no one told him she had died. That is the true human spirit, to sacrifice for another human, t o live a good life, and to raise good children (to preach to others even though we don’t have a clue, just a feeling, oh sorry that’s me not my Uncle).
