With the mid-term election around the corner the hate ads are thick in IL. You ask so what’s different then any other election. Well let me tell you, with the Supreme Court ruling that Corporations are people and the ability to hide behind 501c4 non-for-profits the money being spent is insane. There’s more money being spent on hate then ever before and some of candidates don’t even know what the ads are saying. One clue is when you don’t see the candidate has approved the ad. At the end of the ad you will see who paid for it. This holds true for the IL GOP this morning within 2 commercial breaks I saw 7 GOP ads none were approved by the candidate and 4 Democrat ads all were approved. I’m sick of people quoting these non-approved ads as fact because there not. Even with approved ads you need to get your facts straight before quoting a talking point to me. For example when IL was releasing what was supposed to be non-violent prisoners and the policy was abused Quinn stopped it. Now the ads say he was responsible for the violent criminals being released and that they are preying on us all. He was not governor when the policy started and was kept in an isolation bubble as lieutenant governor. These ads keep us from knowing where the candidates really stand on the issues. When they do say where the candidates stands its all mindless talking points with no real solutions. Now back to the GOP there is the possibility that their ads are being paid for by foreign corporations whose interest has to do with get outsourced jobs and other contracts to make goods outside of the US and go by the name of the US Chamber of Commerce. It looks like an investigation will be conducted and hopefully successful before the 2012 elections. Who really has our best interest in mind? Speaking for myself my congress women, Jan Schakowsky, has proven to me that she does. For the rest of the candidates it’s going to be the lesser of 2 evils where I’ll vote for the more progressive candidates, the opposite of the Tea Party candidates. The Tea-baggers want less government by ideologies that call for more restrictions on people’s rights, except for owning guns. I’m for our right to bare arms (except for the jersyshore guys) but I feel there should be strict laws for having a gun in the wrong place and using one in a crime.
Get out and Vote!!
