This was my response
to the ever expanding Bush wars that were happeneing at this
time, both known and unknown. This was before the internet and
the beggining of the end of the "cold war" between the USA and
USSR. I wrote most of this in fall 86 and added the last verse
in spring 1987 after we put it to music. I wrote the lyrics
on a notepad in between class and the rythyms that RJ and Mark
put together for this just happen to fit my words but I need
another verse. At first I just left the spot open until I finished,
the guys didn't like the long pause between verses so I came
up with the last verse walking home from class. At this time,
the Iran Contra affair was in full swing of investigation. Reagan
was playing dumb and Bush was in denial. Somethings never change.
At the time, I still thought Reagan was in charge but now over
20 years later I was wrong. The guy was a loon, an actor playing
the part of president. In his seccond term it was obvious the
guy was not there. History will show that it was the Bush family
all along pulling the strings. Now the Republicans act like
he was the greatest president ever. Once again they play on
the ignorance of the american public.
