Ahhh spring. Looking forward to the warm weather, working in my yard, checking for guns. The usual.
Every spring I prep the yard for the summer by clearing the dead growth from the previous season out of the garden, weed and pull out the undesirables. Last year at this time I was uncovering a Smith and Wesson, this year just dead underbrush.
I have been very nervous about that event. It ran through my
mind again this season, will I find another? My son
will be four this year and the last thing I want is for him
to find it before I do. Not that it will happen again but I
am not taking any chances. Call me a concerned parent.
Last week another loser with a gun proved what a bigger loser he was by going on a rampage through his school killing people for what he perceived as being spoiled. Will we get some sort of effective gun control legislation this year. I doubt it.

It was also discovered last week that the Bush misadministration has been keeping databases of people that are on antidepressant medications, you know legal drugs. They call them pharmaceuticals. Why would they do this? Well it is obvious that it was not to protect us from some folks that might not have all their marbles in a row. But it sure did not stop that kid from purchasing two guns a month apart in Virginia. The guy was a known nut case and he was allowed to purchase weapons of mass destruction without notice. There was some gun nut on CNN talking about how these weren't that dangerous of guns and he was surprised at his kill count and that the 9 mm and .22 caliber's he used did not have stopping power. So I guess his reasoning is if he had lets say a .44 or .357 magnums the number of dead could have been like 300. Weewhhh, lucky us. We dodged a bullet there.
So it goes.
Nope, no guns in my back yard.
